“[Free] and Open Source 4 Geo in the age of agentic work”
Re FOSS4G & Gen AI. AI is not capable of original thought, limited by input and existing ‘knowledge’ code. Output may be great for very specific tasks but not to resolve strategic plans for complex solutions. Engineers do a lot more than code and spatial is still special. Geographer experience is invaluable in building FOSS4G, but Gen AI can provide valuable tools for the job, ie speeding up the actual coding and testing.
